MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian government will sign a memorandum of mutual understanding with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This is envisaged in Council of Ministers' Resolution No.307 of 16 May 2019 which has been officially published on the national legal internet portal, BelTA has learned.
The resolution approves the draft memorandum of mutual understanding as a basis for holding the talks.
The State Science and Technology Committee has been authorized to hold talks on the draft memorandum. If necessary, the committee has the right to introduce amendments of no fundamental nature. The committee has also been authorized to sign the document.
WIPO is the global forum for intellectual property services, policy, information and cooperation. The organization is a self-funding agency of the United Nations, with 192 member states. WIPO was established in 1967. The organization is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
