Belarus to present over 150 defense products at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi

MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Belarus will present current and upcoming defense products at the 2021 International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2021) in Abu Dhabi. The expo will be open in one of the world's most technologically advanced expo centers ADNEC on 21-25 February, BelTA has learned.

IDEX is one of the largest military expos in the world and in the region that unites Middle East and North Africa countries. About 1,300 leading defense companies from 59 countries are expected to display their products in 35 pavilions. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus.

Not only organizations run by the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus but ten Belarusian independent defense contractors will showcase their products under one roof of the national stand in Abu Dhabi this year. The step will allow presenting current and upcoming innovative products based on the R&D potential of the Belarusian defense industry within the framework of the common IDEX concept. Integrated weapon systems will represent the foundation of the concept of the national exposition at IDEX 2021. The areas Belarusian defense companies excel at will be in focus.

Belspetsvneshtechnika will be the collective organizer of the Belarusian exposition. MZKT Company will team up with its partner and agent of many years – Al Badie Trading EST (UAE) – to present its own exposition. A total of over 150 full-scale products and breadboard models of military and dual-use products will be featured at the national stand.

The products on display will include grenade launchers, an automated meteoballistic complex, an armored personnel carrier equipped with a remotely controlled observation and fire complex ADUNOK, breadboard models of the multipurpose armored truck Zashchitnik and the armored recovery vehicle BREM.

Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus is expected to meet with top officers of the UAE armed forces, Co-Chairman of the Belarus-UAE Military Technology Cooperation Committee Khalaf Al Qubaisi, and heads of a number of foreign delegations. Current and future avenues of bilateral cooperation in military technology where the sides can achieve practical results as well as the implementation of joint projects will be discussed.

Participation in IDEX 2021 will enable favorable conditions for advancing Belarus' military technology cooperation with the United Arab Emirates. It will help expand business contacts with foreign partners, promote Belarusian products onto foreign markets, open up new prospects for reinforcing scientific, technical, and manufacturing cooperation ties, representatives of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus told BelTA.
