VITEBSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Belarus will increase social expenditures from the budget by 10-12% in 2019, Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told the media, BelTA has learned.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, it has become a good tradition to launch socially important facilities ahead of the 7 November holiday. “The tradition has undergone good changes towards concrete action. We launch new schools, roads, and other objects of social importance. We are opening a kindergarten in Vitebsk today. The development of social sector attracts great attention on the part of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, the MPs. Now we are reviewing the 2019 budget bill and are planning to increase the allocations for the social sector, by 10-12%,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The ceremony to open kindergarten No. 113 for 200 places in the new neighborhood of Bilevo, Vitebsk was attended by President's Aide - Inspector for Vitebsk Oblast Vitaly Vovk, the regional and city authorities.

Kindergartens in the new heavily populated residential area are in great demand. More than 1,500 out of the total 1,900 children have to attend kindergartens in other parts of Vitebsk. Two kindergartens that were opened in 2010-2012 in Bilevo provide services to 520 children.

Vitebsk Oblast Governor Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized the importance of building kindergartens and schools in Bilevo. “About 40,000 people live in the residential area. Next year nine more houses will be commissioned here. Every year some 1,000 children are born in the area. We understand that Bilevo lacks educational institutions for children and will be addressing these issues in the near future,” the governor said.

The construction of a new school in Bilevo continues. The project to build the fourth kindergarten will be launched soon. These facilities are to be commissioned in 2020. A groundbreaking ceremony for the neighborhood's third school is scheduled for next year.
