Belarus signs eight agreements on cooperation in high technology in Miami

MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarusian companies and universities signed eight agreements on cooperation in science, technology, investment, and education as a result of the eMerge Americas technology conference held in Miami, U.S. on 12 and 13 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus.

The company KBTEM-OMO concluded agreements with U.S. companies to sell stepper motors and develop semiconductor wafer control equipment. The BNTU Technopark Polytechnic signed an agreement on the design and joint manufacture of products for medical use. Belarusian State University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and Belarusian National Technical University signed agreements on student exchange and joint projects.

Belarus showcased over 80 hi-tech knowledge-intensive solutions and projects of the Belarusian Education Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Hi-Tech Park in relevant fields. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin.

eMerge Americas is an international expo and conference that helps promote technologies and exchange ideas. The Belarusian exhibition at the conference was organized by the State Science and Technology Committee with the assistance of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park, the Education Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Academy of Sciences, and the National Center for Marketing and Price Study.
