Belarus seeks closer cooperation with China's Greenland Group

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – Belarus intends to step up cooperation with China's Greenland Holdings Corporation Limited, known as Greenland Group, BelTA learned from the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai.

Belarus' Consul General in Shanghai Valery Matsel met with General Manager of Greenland Group Xue Yingze to discuss ways to enhance cooperation. The parties considered the implementation of agreements signed at the meeting between Belarus'First Deputy Premier Aleksandr Turchin and Chairman and President of Greenland Group Zhang Yuliang on 29 July.

Valery Matsel and Xue Yingze also spoke at length about the execution of the contract which provides for supplying $600 million worth of Belarusian food products with a high added value to China and the establishment of cooperation in tourism. Greenland Group's project to build the Shanghai Hotel in Minsk was also on the agenda of the meeting. Other matters included launching direct flights between Minsk and Shanghai, setting up a pavilion featuring Belarusian goods, and opening a restaurant of Belarusian cuisine in Shanghai.

Greenland Group intends to further discuss these projects with a Belarusian delegation during the 2nd China International Import Expo due in Shanghai on 5-10 November.
