Belarus-Russia Union State discussing common database of COVID-19 vaccinations

MOSCOW, 13 December (BelTA) – A common database of COVID-19 vaccinations might be created in the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union, Belarusian Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told reporters at the collegium meeting of the healthcare ministries of Russia and Belarus in Moscow on 13 December, BelTA has learned.

“This matter is being discussed within the framework of the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union,” the minister said answering the question about creating a common database of vaccinated Belarusians and Russians. According to him, the first step has already been taken, which is mutual recognition of testing results in the Travel Without COVID-19 mobile application.

“The second stage is the recognition of vaccination certificates and the third stage is a common database that will allow addressing COVID-19 related matters faster,” Dmitry Pinevich said.

The collegium meeting is taking place in Moscow on 13 December. Taking part in it are Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko and his Belarusian counterpart Dmitry Pinevich, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko. The main topic on the agenda is improvement of the quality control in healthcare.
