
MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) - Scientists of Belarus and the Russian Federation will outline joint actions to prevent the falsification of history, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov told reporters before a joint meeting of the Presidiums of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Russian Academy of Sciences, BelTA has learned.
Today, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will consider the activities to preserve the historical memory of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. "We will discuss joint actions to prevent the falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War. We will work out our common position. We will outline a number of events on this topic (conferences, roundtables). We will prepare publications, conduct joint research, since that was a common tragedy," said Vladimir Gusakov.



A large delegation of the Russian Academy of Sciences and well-known scientists of Russia headed by President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Academician Gennady Krasnikov arrived in Minsk to participate in the meeting. This is his first visit as the new head of the Russian Academy of Sciences since the elections in September 2022. The event is also attended by President of the Kurchatov Institute Mikhail Kovalchuk.
The participants of the joint meeting of the Presidiums of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will consider a number of important issues. Among them are the performance of the academies of sciences in 2021-2022, the status of the programs of the Union State with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and promising programs, the strategy of scientific and technological development of the Union State.






The scientific elite of the two countries will discuss research and development in the field of microelectronics in the Russian Federation and Belarus, the research program of the Belarus branch of the Kurchatov Institute, joint Belarusian-Russian projects within the framework of the programs of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Science Foundation.
