MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have signed an intergovernmental memorandum of understanding on biological safety, BelTA has learned.
The signing ceremony took place after a meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 19 January
"It is aimed at strengthening our national security, the security of each of our countries and stopping threats in this area that stem from the activities of the military departments of third states and related organizations," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained.
According to him, the document provides for a regular exchange of information between relevant structures to ensure timely response.
The parties also signed a resolution of the meeting of the collegiums and a plan for ministerial consultations in 2023.
