MOGILEV, 11 September (BelTA) – The program of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will include many new events, Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Marianna Shchetkina told the media during the meeting of the Belarusian and Russian organizing committees of the forum on 11 September, BelTA has learned.
The first Week of Integration will be held ahead of the forum. Mogilev Oblast and Mogilev will host numerous delegations and hold various events. The Business Cooperation Council will hold its meeting too. The program of activities will also comprise a meeting of students and a youth sports day.
“Taking part in this year's forum will be a lot of young people. The youth will be involved in all the sections to discuss the Union State construction priorities. An interesting youth forum will feature delegations from different regions of the two countries. An open dialogue is expected to take stock of the progress in cooperation and outline goals for the medium term,” the deputy chairwoman of the Council of the Republic said.
“Today we also discussed that probably there would not be enough places in Mogilev to accommodate all those who would like to come to the forum. Therefore, we are considering the accommodation opportunities of the neighboring districts: Shklov District, Chausy District and others,” Marianna Shchetkina added.
“We also talked over the participation of Russian regions and governors in the event. We are going to sign a large number of contracts, partnership and cooperation development agreements. It will be impossible to organize the event without the coordination of positions. Our joint preparation for the forum once again shows that we have always been and will be strategic partners and friends,” Marianna Shchetkina said.
The 5th Forum of Regions will take place in Mogilev on 10-12 October. The forum is organized by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Belarus. The event is held annually in Belarus and Russia on a rotation basis.More about Society
