MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – The 8th international school to train specialists of the Belarusian Society of the Red Cross to respond to emergencies took place at the Institute for Retraining and Professional Development (IRPD) of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry near Borisov, the press service of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry told BelTA.
The school began on 23 April. Teams of volunteers and specialists of the national societies of the Red Cross from Belarus, Italy, Russia, and Ukraine – over 70 people – took part in the exercise. Over the course of three days they shared their best practices and experts were trained to respond to emergencies, which may emerge in the course of public events.

The exercise was supposed to practice and polish procedures for interaction between volunteer teams of the Belarusian Society of the Red Cross and interested government agencies and public organizations during large-scale mass events in Belarus. The exercise focused on training 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 volunteers to provide first aid in an emergency. Rapid emergency response volunteers of the Belarusian Society of the Red Cross will also be on duty during the sport forum, including as part of mobile medical teams.
