Belarus named Guest of Honor at Moscow International Book Fair

MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) - Belarus will be the Guest of Honor at the 32nd Moscow International Book Fair which will be held at the VDNKh center, Moscow on 4-8 September, BelTA learned from the website of the Information Ministry.

The collective stand under the name “Books of the Republic of Belarus” will showcase the best samples of the Belarusian publishing industry, will host presentations of the publishing projects dedicated the landmark events – the Year of Native Land, the 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazi invaders and joint projects of writers of Belarus and Russia.

Workshops, professional events, meetings with authors will be held at various venues in Moscow. One of the major events will be a roundtable to discuss cooperation in mutual translations, publications and periodicals.

Belarus will be honored during the ceremony to award winners of the CIS Art of Book contest in which Belarusian editions won 20 diplomas across all nominations, including the highest award of the contest – the Grand Prix. During the exhibition the Belarusian delegation will hand over books by Belarusian authors to the Federal National and Cultural Autonomy “Belarusians of Russia”.

The organizers of the Moscow International Book Fair are the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media of Russia and the General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs.
