Belarus, Montenegro to cooperate in forensics

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - The State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus and the Forensic Center of the Montenegrin Police Directorate have signed an agreement on cooperation , spokeswoman for the State Forensic Examination Committee (SFEC) Anna Zhdanova told BelTA.

The document was signed by Director of the Forensic Center Aleksandar Ivanovic and SFEC Deputy Chairman Sergei Yevmenenko.

The parties shall engage in scientific work in forensics, jointly develop methods and protocols, exchange information. The two agencies shall cooperate in training, retraining and advanced training of forensics experts and will exchange specialists for internships.

A delegation from Montenegro visited laboratories to study drugs, materials, substances and products and to conduct chemical research of substances of unknown nature, laboratories to examine documents, banknotes and handwriting, computer forensics albs. The head of the Montenegrin agency got familiar with the Belarusian experience in conducting forensic, ballistic examinations and ballistic records.

The parties discussed the most promising areas of cooperation. The Montenegrin agency is particularly interested in training its specialists in computer and technical examinations. Preliminary agreements were reached on the visit of Belarusian experts to the Forensic Center of Montenegro in March-April 2020.
