Belarus, Moldova discussing possibility to scrap roaming charges

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova Anatoly Kalinin and Moldova's Economy and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean discussed a possibility to reduce or scrap roaming charges between the countries during a meeting in Chisinau. This information was posted on the website of the Belarusian diplomatic mission, BelTA informs.

During the meeting, Anatoly Kalinin and Sergiu Railean discussed preparations for a session of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

It is scheduled take place in Minsk in October this year. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to making the agenda of the session as meaningful as possible.

“The parties discussed a possibility to reduce or scrap roaming charges between the two countries and implementation of joint projects in the manufacturing sector and transport. They noted that it is important to consider Belarus' proposals on the joint construction of roads in Moldova,” the embassy said.

The Moldovan side was also invited to study Belarus' expertise and knowledge in implementing special programs in the utilities sector. This pertains to the upgrade of heating and water supply networks and elevators, improvement of energy efficiency of houses, water purification and other programs.
