
MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – A delegation of the Investigative Committee led by Chairman Dmitry Gora visited Tajikistan and held a number of meetings with representatives of law enforcement agencies of the friendly country, BelTA has learned.
On 14 March Dmitry Gora met with the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of Tajikistan Sulaimon Sultonzoda. Matters concerning fight against corruption, investigation of corruption, economic, and tax crimes, law enforcement practices were discussed. Apart from that, the heads of the two agencies discussed the possibility of sharing the best practices in preventing, detecting, suppressing, uncovering, and investigating corruption crimes. The organization of fact-finding visits, internships, joint events, and scientific research was discussed.
The next day Dmitry Gora met with Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon. The sides discussed various aspects of fight against corruption, particularly in the sphere of high technologies, drugs trafficking, and illegal migration. Attention was also paid to interaction between preliminary investigation bodies and the prosecution service during pre-trial criminal proceedings.
In furtherance of a previously signed interagency agreement a program was signed to guide cooperation between the Investigative Committee of Belarus and the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan in 2023-2024. It will become the foundation for organizing joint roundtable sessions and seminars.
