Belarus' Investigative Committee collects Ukrainian missile debris for examination

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Belarus' Investigative Committee collected objects from the Ukrainian missile drop site for studying them, BelTA learned from the committee's spokesman Sergei Kabakovich.

The official said: “According to the investigation team, missile pieces were found in a crop field near the village of Gorbakha, Ivanovo District this morning. An investigation team of the Brest Oblast branch of the Investigative Committee immediately went to the site. The investigators are working in tight cooperation with personnel of the Defense Ministry and the State Forensic Examination Committee. Police personnel promptly cordoned off the incident site.”

Preliminary findings indicate the debris belongs to an S-300 air defense guided missile. The examination of the site continues, witnesses are being interviewed. Detailed records of the site are being made. Objects of significance for the investigation and consequent forensic studies are being collected.
