MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Belarus is in favor of democratization of international relations. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik mentioned it after negotiations with Nicaraguan Minister of Foreign Affairs Denis Moncada Colindres, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Aleinik remarked that in Latin America Belarus has a lot of partners, with whom the country “looks at the world with the same eyes.”

The minister stressed: “We are in favor of multipolarity, justice, unacceptability of diktat and the illegal sanctions-based pressure in international relations. In other words, we are essentially in favor of democratization of international relations.”

In his words, the commonality of principles and approaches to foreign policy such as equality of rights, mutual respect, non-interference in domestic affairs of sovereign states allow Minsk and Managua to interact at international platforms. “We provide mutual support to each other in the United Nations Organization. We work side by side in the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations,” the Belarusian diplomat said.
