Belarus, Hungary to bolster ties in tourism

MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuck met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto to discuss the prospects for the development cooperation in Minsk on 15 January, BelTA has learned from the ministry's press service.

Peter Szijjarto expressed confidence that Belarus-Hungary cooperation in sport and tourism will be further promoted. An increase in the number of flights between Minsk and Budapest might contribute to this. Belarus' 30-day visa-free requirements open new prospects for travelers. It also makes sense to develop ties between Belarusian and Hungarian universities. Peter Szijjarto invited Belarus to take part in the international tourism exhibition in Budapest.

According to Sergei Kovalchuk, the cooperation between the two countries in tourism holds great potential which is yet to be fully realized. “As before Belarusians are attracted by the beauty of Hungary, eagerly visit the county, but the mutual flow of travelers needs to be increased,” he said and invited Peter Szijjarto to attend the European Games in Minsk in June.
