MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Huawei are planning to implement a joint project to supply network solutions for healthare. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin and representatives of Huawei Technologies Ltd, BelTA has learned.
Anatoly Kalinin informed of the plans to implement a project to deliver Huawei network solutions and equipment N.N Alexandrov National Cancer Center and Minsk City Clinical Cancer Dispensary. “We also pay great attention to the cooperation with the company in the field of education. For example, a Huawei training center was opened at the Belarusian State Academy of Communications in 2011. In 2016 a training center of the company was inaugurated at the academy's branch in Vitebsk.
Anatoly Kalinin also emphasized the big role of the Seeds for the Future international educational project for young professionals. “Young Belarusians are very grateful for the opportunity to explore Huawei's technologies," he said.
The vice premier also mentioned the pilot project Smart Class that is being implemented in one of the secondary schools in Mogilev. The project may be replicated throughout the country in the future. “Work continues to implement on the Smart Home and Safe city solutions in Belarus. Our country intends to develop productive cooperation with Huawei Corporation, to provide the most favorable conditions for investment in information and communication technology sector,” he said.
According to Anatoly Kalinin, Belarusian enterprises and Huawei have so far implemented $400 million worth of joint projects. Beltelecom's products and solutions are used to develop modern infrastructure, including next-generation multi-service networks. “Thanks to this, Belarus has been named twice by the International Telecommunication Union as one of the ten most dynamically developing countries in the ICT,” he said.
The vice premier noted that Huawei was registered as the first resident of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. Bel Huawei Technologies' office in the industrial park features an exhibition center to demonstrate the company's technological capabilities for the corporate communication market.
According to Anatoly Kalinin, Belarus cooperates with Huawei in the joint production of terminal and network equipment. Promsvyaz Company has already launched the production of various terminals, modems, digital terrestrial television receivers and other telecommunications equipment.
Huawei Vice President Emy Lin expressed readiness to continue fruitful cooperation with the Belarusian companies.More about Society
