Belarus' five-year plan goals: affordable housing, higher GDP and life expectancy

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – In 2020 the GDP growth in Belarus will make up 12-15% as against 2015, every Belarusian family will be able to afford housing, while the average life expectancy will reach 75.3 years. These goals are envisaged in Belarus' draft social and development program for 2016-2020, which is to be discussed at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

Among other goals of the country's five-year plan are the growth of people's incomes by 9.5%-11.6% and the reduction of lending rates by 9%-11%.

In achieving the abovementioned goals the country will focus on the following priorities in its development: investment, employment, export, IT penetration and the youth.

The country's major development goal for 2016-2020 is to improve the quality of people's life through stronger economic competitiveness, investment attraction and innovative development.
