MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The messages summoning young men to military enlistment offices sent on behalf of the Belarusian Defense Ministry are a fake, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of the ministry.
“Messages with the summons to a military enlistment office emailed from the e-mail address info.mil.by@yandex.by are a fake. This address does not belong to the Defense Ministry. Citizens' responsibilities regarding military service are set forth in the law ‘On military duty and military service', not the law mentioned in the fake message,” the ministry noted.
In order to fulfill their military duty, citizens are summoned to a military enlistment office or another agency responsible for keeping track of military registration only with a personal summons that includes not the hotline of the agency, but a telephone number of an official who had issued the summons. “If you have questions, please, contact your local military enlistment office for information,” the Defense Ministry added.
