Belarus debuts at New York Times Travel Show 2018

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - Belarus' tourism industry debuted at New York Times Travel Show 2018 in New York on 26-29 January, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.

Belarus' Sport and Tourism Ministry and the National Tourism Agency made an emphasis on the five-day visa-free entry program, which has been reflected in the design of the national stand. In 2017 nearly 80,000 foreign travelers visited Belarus under the visa-free program. Visitors from the United States were in the top 10 countries by the number of tourists coming under the visa-free program.

Guests of the national stand were told about the Belarusian nature and cultural heritage, large-scale sporting events which Belarus will host in the next few years such as the European Games 2019 and the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship 2021 (co-hosted by Belarus and Latvia).

The New York Times Travel Show is a major tourism fair in North America. This year it was attended by more than 100 countries. The main focus was on health and family tourism
