Belarus' customs agency to cooperate with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – The State Customs Committee of Belarus and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice have signed a memorandum of cooperation, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.

The memorandum is designed to strengthen joint response to illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, as well as money laundering associated with illegal drug trade. In line with the document, the parties will exchange information that will help them detect, prevent and investigate such crimes.

The State Customs Committee underlined that the memorandum will help remove factors impeding trade and economic growth of the countries, and help prevent actions posing threat to public health.
