MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus handed over personal protective equipment (PPE), that was provided by the Belarusian Embassy in China, to the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology, BelTA learned from the press service of the Council of the Republic.
“We have brought children face masks that were bought by the Belarusian Embassy in China,” Chairman of the Standing Commission on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development of Belarus' Council of the Republic Viktor Liskovich said. The center is under the supervision of the Council of the Republic. “We hold various campaigns, help the center in various ways. We want young patients to get better sooner thanks to comfort and professional treatment,” he added.
Viktor Liskovich noted that, in general, healthcare workers have adopted a comprehensive approach to treating patients with infectious diseases, including the coronavirus. “Healthcare workers have enough personal protective equipment and medicines for treatment of viral diseases and have developed a procedure to deal with such patients. Some of them receive outpatient treatment, some – inpatient treatment, while others only need follow-up care in a health resort,” he said.
According to Viktor Liskovich, the number of coronavirus recoveries has grown steadily in Belarus. “I call on Belarusians to be disciplined, responsible, and follow all the rules laid down by the Healthcare Ministry. Then we all will stay healthy,” he believes.
Director of the center Natalya Konoplya thanked the Council of the Republic. “This is the third time that representatives of the Council of the Republic have visited our cente. We welcome this cooperation which is turning into a nice tradition,” she noted.
