Belarus-China Year of Education plan of action signed in Beijing

MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – An action plan to hold the Belarus-China Year of Education in 2019 was adopted during the third meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation committee in Beijing on 2 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in China.

The meeting was chaired by Nikolai Snopkov, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration, and Guo Shengkun, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee.

Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas and China's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Hanhui, who are also secretariats of the national parts of the committee, made reports during the event. Other speakers included the heads of the commissions for cooperation in: trade and economy; science and technology; security; education; and culture.

A number of documents were signed during the meeting. Among them is the final protocol of the meeting of the committee, a plan of cooperation between the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of China for 2019-2022.

The parties agreed to hold the fourth meeting of the committee in Minsk in 2020.
