MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The ballet company of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus will embark on a tour of Mexico with Piotr Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty on 17 February, BelTA learned from the theater.
“Sleeping Beauty is a wonderful ballet. This tale is known virtually to every person on the planet. We are bringing a classical interpretation with a variety of dancing and Piotr Tchaikovsky's marvelous music,” said head of the theater's ballet company, Honored Artist of Belarus Tatiana Shemetovets.
The ballet company will tour almost 30 cities of Mexico, including Tijuana, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Irapuato, Merida, Cancun, Mexico, and theirs. Over a month and a half they will show 42 plays. The leading parts are played by Irina Yeromkina, Aleksadnra Chizhik, Yana Shtangei, Viktoria Trenkina, Darya Medovskaya, Veronika Ovchinnikova, Igor Artamonov, Anton Kravchenko, Konstantin Geronik, Yegor Azarkevich, and Artyom Bankovsky.
According to Tatiana Shemetovets, the ballet company has a great potential. All the artists are responsible persons who love their profession. “I would like them to feel part of a big family, where everyone knows that there is always a shoulder to lean on,” she said.
