
MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Azerbaijan discussed the events to celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA following a visit of Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko to Azerbaijan.
"The visit was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which Belarusian delegations traditionally receive on the hospitable Azerbaijani land," the press service said.
Igor Petrishenko met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian areas and multilateral cooperation in various international organizations. On behalf of Belarus, Igor Petrishenko congratulated the head of Azerbaijani diplomacy on the country's productive chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement and the successful conduct of the summit in Baku. The parties touched upon the joint events on the occasion of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, including the exchange days of culture in Baku and Minsk. "The planned events will give a new impetus to the Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations," the press service stressed.
Meetings were also held with Deputy Economy Minister Sahib Alekperov and representatives of business circles of Azerbaijan. "Following the meetings, we can firmly say that Belarus and Azerbaijan remain reliable partners across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations," the government said.
On the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement summit, Igor Petrishenko had a conversation with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev of Kyrgyzstan to discuss further development of bilateral cooperation in relevant areas, including in the context of joint work within the framework of the EAEU.
