Belarus 24 to broadcast in Asia Pacific

MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – On 1 April Belarus 24 will start broadcasting through the AsiaSat 5 satellite that covers the territory of the Asia Pacific region from Russia to New Zealand and from Japan to North Africa. The potential audience of the region is estimated at hundreds of million people, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company.

AsiaSat 5 provides broadcasting services to many European and Russian channels. Belarus 24 will get access to the same audience as the leading TV channels as it will operate on the same platform. “This is expected to considerably increase the interest in our country and our culture and to foster international contacts. By the way, the signal of the international TV channel of the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company is not encoded and is publicly available, therefore users will be able to watch it through their personal satellite dishes,” the press service noted.

Thus, the signal of the TV channel will be available through three satellites: ABS-2А (Russia, CIS states and Baltic states), HotBird (Europe, Middle East and North Africa), AsiaSat 5 (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, India, Vietnam and other countries of Southeast Asia).

The international satellite channel of the media holding is available through TV packages of cable and satellite providers, as well as online on the updated official website of the company belarus24.by, through mobile services, on IPTV and OTT platforms. The channel provides comprehensive information about the way of life of Belarusians, successes, culture and history of Belarus.
