Baku to host final of 100 Ideas for CIS contest

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A session of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs will be held in Baku on 14-15 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The agenda of the meeting includes 14 items. In particular, Azerbaijan will share its experience in carrying out the national youth policy. The council will consider the status of implementation of the CIS concept to develop cooperation to support youth volunteer movement and the CIS international youth cooperation strategy for 2020, and will discuss the preparation of the next youth cooperation strategy for the period of 2021-2030.

The council is set to discuss matters regarding the CIS Forum of Youth Organizations, social support for the youth, youth entrepreneurship development, and cooperation between national youth associations of the CIS and the European Youth Forum. Members of the council will also give consideration to draft provisions on the CIS Youth Capital and on the CIS International Youth Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as discuss a list of indicators of the status of the youth in the CIS countries.

The international stage (the final) of the CIS international youth contest 100 Ideas for the CIS will be held on the margins of the session. Launched in 2013, the contest aims to involve youth in the work to promote innovative development of the CIS economies.

The 100 Ideas for the CIS contest is a biennial event. It has been held since 2014 and consists of two stages: national (selection) and international (final). The contest is open to young people aged between 14-35 from the CIS member states. The contest has the following categories: Industrial Technology and Manufacturing; Chemical Technology and Biotechnology; Culture; Education; Healthcare; Medicine, Medical Equipment and Technology, Pharmacy; Information Technology (IT Sector); Hospitality: Tourism and National Culture.
