MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus Razmik Khumaryan has taken part in the Belarusian Forest Week 2023 campaign. He planted new trees in the Minsk Forestry together with the representatives of the Forestry Ministry, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

Razmik Khumaryan said that this was not the first time he had taken part in the Forest Week. “I used to work in the CIS Executive Committee and I have participated in this campaign several times. My colleagues and I did it with pleasure, because planting trees is a noble cause. It is doubly enjoyable to participate in such events with the nature and forests of Belarus. Now it is my first time to participate in the campaign as an ambassador,” he said. “By the way, the Forestry Ministry has been authorized to lead the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission this year on Belarus' behalf. We cooperate with the ministry very closely and we have big plans for this year. In particular, we plan to plant new forests using Belarusian seedlings,” he added.

According to the ambassador, it is also important that 2023 has been declared the Year of Peace and Creation in Belarus. “What can be more creative than planting a forest? I hope that in a few years the seedlings will grow strong and our children and grandchildren will already see a real thick Belarusian forest,” the ambassador concluded.

The national Forest Week campaign will last through the end of April. The campaign is held for the 16th time in all regions and is dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation.
