Applications for participation in the 6th annual Easter in Minsk World contest for preschool and school students are closing on 30 April. There are a few days left to become a contender for the prize money!
Children and teenagers from all over Belarus are eligible to participate in the contest. Dreams come true if you try very hard! Do you want to showcase your talent to the whole country?
Terms of the contest are very simple:
- Make a drawing, a handcrafted item or an installation themed around "Easter in Minsk World”. One author may submit two works for the contest;
- Send the organizers 3 photos of the work and information about the author. Click here to fill out the form;
- Save the original work until the end of the contest.
You can send both individual and group creative projects to the contest. The jury will select the winner in two categories: "Art Drawing" and "Installation" in four age categories: children from 4 to 6 years old, students of 1-4 grades, 5-8 grades, and also 9-11 grades and vocational colleges.
More information about the contest rules is available on the company's website.
Winners in each age group and each category will receive money prizes. The organizers increase the prize fund every year as the number of participants is constantly growing. In 2016, school students sent in 150 creative works. In 2020, their number reached 353.
Last year Sergei Kondra became the absolute winner of the contest. The boy made a cartoon, using plasticine figurines to tell the story of receiving the keys to the new apartment. He implemented the whole idea from beginning to end by himself, even guiding his mother, who acted as a cameraman.
“At that moment we had just moved into a new apartment, so the idea came up very quickly,” Olga shared her impressions.
Winning the competition inspired her son to continue pursuing the hobby. Sergei spent the prize money on a notebook and started actively filming and editing videos. As a result, he participated in and won several other contests, including international ones.
“Such competitions help bond families, friends, classmates. Kids come up with ideas, then support each other and feel proud if they win,” Olga believes.
Her son's victory inspired Olga to take lessons in editing and take part in the My DANA contest of photos and essays, eventually winning it.
All editions of the Easter in Minsk World competition have brought together more than 1,500 children. The collection of works of the competition is available here.
Every year the Easter art contest takes place in 17 countries where Dana Holdings works. The organizers are intent on exploring the artistic potential of children and helping them implement the most daring ideas.
