Amy Lin: Belarus is one of the most important states for new Silk Road project

ASTANA, 15 November (BelTA) - Belarus is one of the most important states for the new Silk Road project, Huawei Senior Vice President Amy Lin told BelTA on the sidelines of Huawei Central Asian Innovation Day in Astana.

“Belarus is one of the most important states of the Belt and Road initiative. Taking into account the unique geographic location and highly qualified specialists, including the opening of the Bel Huawei Technologies, the technological research center Huawei has been founded in Minsk. Cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences, local research and educational institutions is vibrant. We pay great attention to strategic cooperation with Belarus in the field of ICT,” she said.

The senior vice president emphasized the importance of the company's participation in the development of Belarus' informatization program. She added that Huawei plans to further expand its investment in Belarus, implement more advanced scientific technologies, and facilitate the training of IT specialists.

As part of the international educational project for young specialists Seeds for the Future, the company promotes the training of talented young people of Belarus in China. In 2015-2017 in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and Informatization and the Education Ministry of Belarus, the students who passed the competitive selection traveled to China for training courses. Among them are students of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and the Belarusian State Academy of Communications.

“The company has developed a plan for the employment of students who participate in the Seeds for the Future program. It is very important for us, as all the students are very talented and professional. They study modern technologies, which they will apply in Belarus,” noted Amy Lin.
