MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Aerial units of the Belarus-Russia regional military force continue carrying out missions, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

On 20 January as part of the ongoing air force tactical exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia the aerial units continue carrying out missions using all the airfields of the Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The flight crews are practicing combat deployment in the Ruzhansky military training area where aviation is supposed to suppress air defenses, destroy command posts, assembled equipment and personnel of the simulated enemy. Meanwhile, fighter aircraft provide cover to strike groups of ground-attack aircraft and bombers.

An early warning and control aircraft A-50 operating from the Machulishchi airfield provides aerial reconnaissance and control for crews of multirole fighter aircraft.
