The first Vienna Ball in the history of independent Belarus took place in the Palace of Independence on 28 December. Taking part in the event were Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Prime Minister Sergei Rumas, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova, Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko, high-ranking officials and diplomats.
