Sweden's Elisabeth Hoegberg wins IBU Cup sprint in Raubichi

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) - Elisabeth Hoegberg of Sweden won the Women 7.5km Sprint at IBU Cup 8 in Raubichi, finishing in 21:42.7, BelTA has learned.

Germany's Stefanie Scherer became second, 28.7 seconds behind, while Aasne Skrede of Norway was third, 29.8 seconds back. All three shot clean.

Belarus' Adelina Sabitava finished 27th.

A total of 62 athletes took part in the race.

Maksim Varabei, Viktar Kryuko and Yahor Kazarynau will compete in the Men's 10km Sprint that kicks off at 15.00 local time.

The final IBU Cup will continue on 5 March with sprint women at 11.00 and sprint men at 14.00 with a 20-second start interval. Mass starts (11.00 – women, 13.30 – men) will close the program on 6 March.

Competing at the IBU Cup 8 in Raubichi are 151 athletes from 31 countries.
