MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 13 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus failed to reach the quarterfinal of the Top Seed Open in Lexington, BelTA has learned.
In the round of Last 16 the Belarusian lost to U.S. world 53 Cori Gauff 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 4-6. The match lasted for two hours and 50 minutes.
In the quarterfinal Cori Gauff will face world number 39 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia who saw off Belarus' number 135 Olga Govortsova 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. Aryna Sabalenka beat U.S. world number 80 Madison Brengle 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 in the opener.
The tournament in Lexington will be over on 16 August.
