On the first day of the tournament, Baltics Team drew with Germany (7-7). On 5 January, Russia will take on Germany.
In Group C, Finland overcame Ukraine 6-1 who yesterday beat Switzerland (4-1). On 5 January Finland will face Switzerland.
Two more games will be played on 5 January. In Group A, Belarus' President Team will compete against USA Team, the newcomer of the Christmas tournament (9.00; big ice rink). Yesterday, on 3 January, the Belarusians were stronger than the IIHF team 11-3.
The second game day will end with a match in Group B as Balkans Team take on China Team (at 19.30; small ice rink).
The winners of the four groups will advance to the semifinals.
