MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarusian long jumper Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova claimed gold at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Hungary, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian produced a winning jump of 6.77m in the first attempt. Then, she reached 6.72m and 6.73m in the following rounds. Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova notched a minor upset over Ukraine's Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk by one centimeter. The Ukrainian athlete made 6.76m in the fifth round. Diana Lesti of Hungary finished third with her personal record of 6.65m.
Elvira Herman of Belarus clocked 12.96 seconds to clinch bronze in the Women's 100m Hurdles. Nadine Visser of the Netherlands won the race, clocking 12.68 to equal her world lead. Hungary's Luca Kozak was second in 12.71.
Earlier, hammer thrower Hanna Malyshchyk of Belarus clinched bronze with her 70.59m best.
The tournament in Szekesfehervar, Hungary honors the memory of Olympian, 23-time champion of Hungary in sprint, former Secretary General of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Istvan Gyulai.
