MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Belarus lost to Lithuania 13-19 in the 3x3 basketball men's first round as part of the 2nd European Games in Minsk on 23 June, BelTA has learned.
Belarus needs to defeat Estonia (start at 19h05) in order to reach the quarterfinal. In the opener, Belarus took a confident victory, 15-10, over Slovenia. Lithuania has already secured the playoff berth.
Group A features Serbia, Romania, Poland, and Andorra. Group B consists of Russia, Ukraine, France and Italy. Group D comprises Latvia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Turkey.
The Belarusian women's team completed the preliminary round atop of Group A. On Monday, 24 June, they will face either France or the Netherlands in a semifinal bid. Other quarterfinal pairs are Germany vs Spain, the Czech Republic vs Estonia.

Two best teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The 3x3 basketball competitions are underway at Palova Arena near Minsk Sports Palace on 21-24 June.
