Maksim Nedasekau 9th at Hustopece High Jump Meet

MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) — Maksim Nedasekau of Belarus placed 9th in the Men's high Jump at the international tournament in Hustopece, the Czech Republic, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

Maksim Nedasekau did not clear the height of 2.24m. The Belarusian also attempted 2.27m and failed to clear it as well. The athlete completed with the result of 2.20m to share the ninth place with Chris Baker of the UK.

Tom Gale of the UK jumped 2.33 to win the event. Second was Sylwester Bednarek of Poland (2.30m). Bronze went to Jamal Wilson of Bahamas (2.30m).

Maksim Nedasekau said earlier that he was going to miss out on 80% of the winter competitions. In his words, the athlete is focused on his preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Belarusian athlete is a winner of the 2019 European U23 Championships and a silver medalist of the 2018 European Championships. His personal bests are at The Match Europe v USA (Minsk 2019) and the 2nd European Games (Minsk 2019).

The 32nd Summer Olympic Games will take place in Tokyo on 24 July – 9 August 2020.
