MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) - The World Rowing Federation (FISA) has announced that the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta will be held in Lucerne, Switzerland on 16-18 May 2021, BelTA learned from the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
The European Continental Qualification Regatta will be held in Varese, Italy on 5-7 April 2021. The European Rowing Championships will be also hosted by Varese, Italy on 9-11 April 2021.
In 2019, Belarusian athletes won two Tokyo Olympic berths at the World Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria which determined the majority of Olympic and Paralympic berths in rowing. Belarus earned a berth in the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls (Alena Furman and Anastasia Ianina) and the Men's Pair (Siarhei Valadzko and Dzmitry Furman).
The Tokyo Olympic Games, which will be held in 2021, will have 14 medal events, seven for men and seven for women.
