MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Egor Gerasimov of Belarus has reached the Open 13 Provence quarterfinal in Marseille, France, BelTA has learned.
In the round of Last 16 Belarus' world number 72 defeated world number 10 David Goffin of Belgium in two sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). In the opener, Egor Gerasimov saw off Dennis Novak of Austria (World No.95) 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
Egor Gerasimov will next face Canada's world number 18 Felix Auger Aliassime.
In the doubles event the Belarusian-Israeli tandem Andrei Vasilevski and Jonathan Erlich failed to reach the semifinal losing to Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Nikola Mektic of Croatia 3-6, 5-7.
