Dmitry Lukashenko: Participants of Bold Step project will learn martial arts from best coaches

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) - The participants of the Bold Step project will learn martial arts from the best coaches of Belarus, Chairman of the President's Sports Club Dmitry Lukashenko said at the official ceremony to launch the initiative, BelTA has learned.

The President's Sports Club, with the support of the Interior Affairs Ministry and the Belarusian Kickboxing and Thai Boxing Federation, has initiated the sport charity project Bold Step. It will cater to teenagers aged between 10 and 15, who are in difficult life situations, from different regions of the country. They will be offered a chance to regularly practice kickboxing and Thai boxing in the sports centers of the Interior Affairs Ministry.

“Children will get the opportunity to train with excellent coaches, the best in the country. They will be taken under the patronage of officers and receive assistance from professional psychologists. We will also organize excursions to entertain them,” Dmitry Lukashenko said.

“We are happy to support the initiative of the President's Sports Club. It is not the first campaign that the club has initiated to promote a healthy lifestyle. Kickboxing and Muay Thai are very spectacular sports that give you a chance to become better. I am sure that the participants of the project will get a boost of energy, good mood and will learn to stand up for themselves,” Interior Affairs Minister, Chairman of the Kickboxing and Thai Boxing Federation Yuri Karayev said.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Baraulya, decorated athletes and coaches, who presented young athletes with necessary equipment for training.
