MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes Galina Bruyevich (57kg) and Mikhail Dauhaliavets (81kg) have advanced to the next round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic boxing qualifier in London, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Boxing Federation.
Galina Bruyevich defeated Lenka Bernardova of the Czech Republic. Mikhail Dauhaliavets saw off Paulius Zujevas of Lithuania.
Belarus' Yulia Apanasovich will compete in the women's 51kg event. Competing in the men's event will be Aliaksandr Radzionau (69kg) and Vitali Bandarenka (75kg).
Alla Staradub (60kg) and Anton Charnamaz (57kg) are out of competition.
The competitions will be over on 24 March. A total of 77 Olympic berths are on stake. According to the Belarusian Boxing Federation, at least four Belarusian athletes are capable of qualifying for the 2020 Olympics.
The World Olympic Qualifying Tournament is due to take place in Paris on 13-24 May.
The boxing competitions at the Tokyo Olympics will take place from 25 July to 9 August.
