Belarus to host over 100 international sports events in 2020

MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) – In 2020 Belarus will play host to more than 100 international sports events. The list of sports events was approved by Council of Ministers' Resolution No. 883 of 20 December 2019, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian government.

The 16th edition of the Christmas International Tournament of Ice Hockey Amateurs for the Prizes of the President of Belarus will take place on 1-9 January. Minsk will host the IAAF World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships on 1-4 May and the international bike festival VIVA Rovar 2020 on 16 May.

The CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2020 legs are scheduled for May-June, the Fed Cup (women) – for April. The Davis Cup (men) is slated for September-November. Minsk will host the 2020 FIG World Challenge Cup stage on 1-6 July.

The FISU World University Championship in Canoe Sprint will take place in Belarus on 17-24 August. The Alliance Trophy 2020 (dance sport competitions) and the Taekwondo World Cup are scheduled for November and December.
