MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarus took a solid 90-59 win over the UK in the opener of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 Qualifiers, BelTA has learned.
The game took place in Manchester. Maryia Papova led the Belarusian team with 24 points.
On game day one in Group F the UK defeated Poland 75-63.
Belarus will host Poland on 12 November 2020 and play two more matches in 2021: against the UK on 4 February (at home) and against Poland on 7 February (away).
Nine group winners and five best second-placed teams will qualify for the Final Round of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021. The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 Final Round will be hosted by Spain and France (directly qualified) in June 2021.
