Belarus coach says happy Khudzenka finally outraces Kozak

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – The 2nd European Games champion in the Women's K1 500m Volha Khudzenka has outraced Olympic champion Danuta Kozak from Hungary for the first time in her sports career, senior coach of the Belarusian women's canoe team Henadzi Halitski said while commenting on her achievement, BelTA has learned.

“I have been working with Volha Khudzenka for the last ten years. She has had to deal with various difficulties in her sports career but she has never trained halfheartedly. This is why she achieves such great results. I am happy that Volha has finally outraced Danuta Kozak,” Henadzi Halitski said. “At the wold championships last year, Volha told me that she did not know how to win against the athlete as strong as Danuta. But she did it and I am glad that this happened at home during the European Games.”

Volha Khudzenka has already won two gold medals at the 2nd European Games. Apart from claiming the champion's title in the Women's K1 500m, she won the Women's K2 500m gold together with Maryna Litvinchuk.
