Austria triumphant at IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championship in Minsk

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Team Austria beat Team Slovenia in regulation time 4-1 (2-0, 0-0, 2-1) in the final stage of the 2020 IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championship Division I in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

In the all-decisive match on 15 December, Austria were off to a good start when they scored twice in the first period. The scoreless second period was followed by a goal by Slovenia's Maj Tavcar in the 53rd minute of the game. Maximilian Rebernig got Austria back on track with a goal in the 56th minute and Paul Huber scored his second goal of the day into an empty net in the 59th minute to crown Austria's victory.
