MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – The 2020 European Rowing Championships that were initially due in Poznan, Poland on 5-7 June will take place in October, BelTA learned from the official website of the International Rowing Federation.
31 July 2020 has been set as a deadline for a final staging decision after assessing the latest status of the COVID-19 situation.
The 2020 European Rowing Under 23 Championships will take place in Duisburg, Germany will take place on 5-6 September 2020. The 2020 European Rowing Junior Championships will be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 26 to 27 September 2020.
The European Rowing Championships resumed in 2007 after a 34-year-long hiatus. In 2009, the competitions took place in Brest, Belarus. Belarusian rowers make it into the Top Ten in the overall medal standings with nine gold, seven silver and 11 bronze medals. The Top Three includes Germany (25, 23, 17), Italy (21, 19, 21), and Romania (21, 11, 12).
