MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus met with top managers of Russia's leading defense companies (the holding company Russian Helicopters, Uralvagonzavod, Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Corporation) on the sidelines of the Army 2020 forum, BelTA has learned.
The sides discussed the implementation of joint projects. Practical interaction of Belarusian and Russian defense companies for the sake of joint development, supply, and modernization of weapons, military hardware, and special hardware was mentioned. The state of defense technology cooperation was evaluated and promising avenues of cooperation were charted.
According to the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, the Army 2020 forum is not only a convenient platform for demonstrating modern and promising products. It is also an indicator of the fact that the Belarusian defense industry has a certain R&D potential of interest for the Russian partners. Negotiations and meetings with the partners confirmed it.
