MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The demand for recuperation and spa services at Belarusian sanatoriums is stable, with the occupancy rate at about 80%, BelTA learned from Director of the Belarusian National Center for Recuperation and Health Resort Treatment Gennady Bolbatovsky.

“As of 19 August, more than 20,200 people are vacationing at Belarusian sanatoriums. Their occupancy rate is nearly 80%. This is an optimal figure taking into consideration social distancing recommendations. There is also a stable demand for vouchers that are not subsidized by the government: about 10,000 people are now receiving recuperation services under such vouchers, including 1,907 foreign nationals. About 100 foreigners check in every day,” Gennady Bolbatovsky said.

He noted that more than 90% of foreigners at Belarusian spa resorts are Russian nationals.

There are no mass cancellations. About 70% of vouchers available for September have already been booked.

“We see good prospects ahead. By the way, since we resumed normal operation on 15 June, we have not reported a single case of COVID-19, no outbreaks or quarantines,” Gennady Bolbatovsky said.
